Two Tails Pet Company: what a TikTok Shop looks like when the numbers are read properly

The shop had 264 affiliates, 114 shoppable videos and a running ad campaign. In 30 days it made one sale. We audited the Seller Center end to end — products, affiliate, ads, creative — and produced a full performance audit plus a per-video creative scorecard.

The client

A pet-grooming shop doing everything right on paper

104 active products, a funded ad balance, an affiliate program with hundreds of creators and a product line built for demo-ready videos. On the surface, all the pieces of a working TikTok Shop.

Deep catalog

104 active listings, with three no-rinse grooming bundles positioned as the growth products: a tear-stain remover, a shampoo + towel kit and a shampoo + gloves kit.

Real creator activity

264 affiliates and 114 shoppable videos in rotation — more creative volume than most shops ever assemble.

Paid support

A GMV Max campaign running with a $50/day budget and a funded account balance.

The problem

All the activity, none of the conversion

The owner believed three campaigns were running, one per bundle, with nine Spark Ads behind them. The audit found something different.

  • ~19,252 product-page views across the three bundles produced 1 sale in 30 days.
  • The $14.99 order was the shop's entire 30-day GMV — down 50% on the prior month.
  • Creator content, despite 264 affiliates, was attributed $0 in GMV.
  • Only one GMV Max campaign existed, not three — and it hadn't been adjusted since launch.
  • No standalone Spark Ads were live: two drafts had never launched.
  • Two of the three bundles had zero reviews; the whole shop had two.

Why it happens

Activity was mistaken for performance. Videos, affiliates and campaigns existed, so the account looked busy — but nothing connected views to trust to checkout, and no one had audited the funnel beneath the surface.

This describes what the audit found, not an opinion about the shop's potential.

What we delivered

A full audit and a creative scorecard

Two deliverables: a performance audit across the whole account, and a second document scoring the actual videos in rotation.

Shop and product audit

Seller Center analytics, product-page funnels, stock and listing quality, pricing vs discount depth, and the shop's review base — SKU by SKU for the three growth bundles.

Campaign audit

GMV Max configuration, budget vs delivery, ROI target behavior, and the finding that two of the three believed campaigns did not exist as standalone campaigns at all.

Affiliate and creator audit

Open-collaboration setup, the 264-affiliate / 114-video pool, and creator-attributed GMV per bundle — including the ones that produced nothing.

Spark Ads creative scorecard

Every shoppable video reviewed and scored on hook, product clarity and call to action, with its real viewer count — so the client could see exactly which creative patterns were getting reach and which were converting.

Account health check

Two ad accounts under the business center, one empty; payment state; security tasks outstanding; and TikTok's own health panel read back in plain language.

Prioritized findings

The report separates causes from symptoms: creative supply, review/trust gaps and ROI-target throttling — each with the evidence next to it, so fixes can be ordered by likely impact.

Evidence

The numbers the audit was built on

All figures below were read directly from the client's TikTok Seller Center and Ads Manager for the 30-day window, and appear in the delivered audit.

$14.99
30-day shop GMV — 1 order, 1 customer, down 50% on the prior month
0.12
GMV Max ROI: $168.09 spent, $19.99 gross revenue, $168.09 cost per order
19,252 → 1
product-page views across three bundles to a single sale
264 / 114
affiliates and shoppable videos — with $0 creator-attributed GMV
2
total shop reviews; two of the three growth bundles had zero
1
GMV Max campaign actually running, where the client believed there were three
0
standalone Spark Ads live — two drafts had never been launched
380
views on the best-performing video in the pool — it still converted zero

How the audit was run

Read data, not dashboards

1

Pull

Seller Center, Ads Manager and Affiliate Center data exported SKU by SKU for the audit window.

2

Reconcile

Claims checked against the platform's own numbers — campaigns, spend, GMV and attribution.

3

Score

Every video in rotation reviewed on hook, product clarity and CTA, with viewer counts attached.

4

Report

A plain-language document that separates causes from symptoms and orders fixes by likely impact.

Where data could not be read (such as bot-blocked product-editor pages), the report says so and explains what the client should pull manually instead of guessing.

Honest limits

What this case study does not claim

Audit, not turnaround

This engagement delivered the audit and scorecard. We do not claim the shop's metrics changed as a result — the fixes were the client's to run.

One window, one account

The numbers describe a 30-day window at audit time. TikTok Shops move; a single snapshot is a diagnosis, not a permanent verdict.

Gaps are labeled

Where Seller Center did not expose data — per-ad CTR inside an automated campaign, for example — the audit marks it unavailable instead of estimating.

FAQ

Questions about this audit

What does a TikTok Shop audit actually cover?
Shop and product analytics, listing quality, pricing and promotion depth, review and trust signals, affiliate program state, every ad campaign's configuration and delivery, and the creative pool itself. It is a full funnel read, not a campaign-only review.
Why score the videos individually?
Because "make more creative" is not actionable. Scoring every video on hook, product clarity and CTA — next to its real viewer count — shows which patterns earn reach and which earn nothing, so the next ten videos can be built differently.
We already have an agency running ads. Is an audit still useful?
Especially then. The audit verifies what is actually running against what everyone believes is running — in this case, one campaign instead of three and zero live Spark Ads. That gap is usually invisible without a fresh, independent read of the account.
