NMHomeStart: five pages built for first-time buyers — and an honest domain decision

Chris Carreathers helps first-time buyers in Albuquerque, most of them using down payment assistance. We built the SEO-shaped pages his buyers actually search for: first-time buyer guidance, down payment help, live listings and a real About page — staged in GoHighLevel, pending one decision only the client can make.

5 pages staged Live IDX search SEO titles set

At a glance

  • Client NMHomeStart — Chris Carreathers, REALTOR, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
  • Audience First-time buyers; around 85% of his business, many using down payment assistance.
  • Scope Five pages, SEO metadata, IDX listings, lead capture, videos, blog layout.
  • Status Built and staged; publishing awaits the client's domain decision.
The client

A realtor whose clients are nervous — and searching

Chris Carreathers works in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Los Lunas, and specializes in first-time buyers and buyers using down payment assistance programs. His clients do their research online before they ever call.

First-time buyer questions

How the process works, what it costs, what credit looks like, what happens first — the questions that make or break confidence.

Down payment assistance

New Mexico programs can cover part of the upfront cost, but the rules are confusing and easy to misstate. Nervous buyers search for clarity.

Local listings

Buyers want to see homes right away. A site without live listings sends them to the big portals — and to other agents.

The problem

An SEO team with pages to publish — and no site to put them on

  • The client's SEO team needed specific pages (first-time buyer, down payment assistance, listings, about) to target real searches.
  • The existing domain served a separate homepage that could not carry those pages in a crawlable, editable structure.
  • Buyers visiting a generic site had no path to live listings or a lead form tuned to first-time buyers.
  • Follow-up content — emails, SMS, FAQ answers — was scattered across notes rather than one approved knowledge base.
  • Any rebuild had to avoid breaking the client's live homepage and the URLs already in use.

Why it happens

SEO plans target queries; business sites often grew for a different purpose. The pages are only as good as the structure holding them — and domain moves deserve caution, not speed.

This describes the situation the build was scoped around.

What we built

Five pages shaped around real searches

Each page was written for a query a first-time buyer would actually type, with its own SEO title, meta description and single H1.

First-Time Home Buyer — Albuquerque

A page for the core query: buying your first home in Albuquerque, clear local guidance on process and financing, with the client's own video embedded and the lead form wired in.

Down Payment Assistance — Albuquerque

A page for buyers searching assistance programs, written to explain what may help qualified buyers and connect them with the right local professionals — without promising eligibility or amounts.

Homes for Sale — Albuquerque

A live-listing page with IDX smart search and featured property cards linking to full listing details, plus the existing lead capture form.

About Chris & NMHomeStart

A trust page for the person behind the brand, with the client's supplied photos planned in and places for his community and closing story.

Blog layout

A blog page with a native posts element, ready to publish articles the SEO team provides — showing a clean branded empty state until then.

Follow-up knowledge base

A structured source document covering services, specialties, programs and FAQ answers — built for the client's email and SMS follow-ups, CRM notes and nurture content, with clear "verify before use" labels on changing figures.

Evidence

What the launch audit verified

An internal audit on August 31, 2026 checked the staged drafts page by page. These are its verified findings.

5
page drafts staged with SEO titles, meta descriptions and a single H1 each
6
featured property cards rendering from the live IDX search on Homes for Sale
4×
pages with the lead capture form rendered or embedded
2
client videos embedded on the buyer and assistance pages
Verified build facts

These facts come from the delivery records and the dated launch audit. No ranking, traffic or lead claims are made — the pages are staged and the domain decision is pending, and this page states that plainly.

The open decision

Two honest paths for the domain

The domain currently serves the client's existing homepage. Publishing the new pages without breaking it is a business decision, so we stopped and asked rather than choosing for him.

Option A — move the domain

Point the main domain at the new site. The new pages get full authority, and the current standalone homepage is replaced. Best long-term for SEO, but it changes what visitors see today.

Option B — launch on a subdomain

Keep the existing homepage and publish the new pages on a subdomain with one DNS record. Lower risk, slightly slower for SEO consolidation, and the client keeps the current front door.

Publishing is intentionally on hold until the client chooses. No DNS records were changed and no pages were pushed live during the build.

Honest limits

What this case study does not claim

Staged, not live

The pages are built and audited in GoHighLevel but not published. We do not claim rankings, traffic or leads they have not produced yet.

Client facts labeled

Program, pricing and assistance details in the knowledge base are marked as client claims to verify against an approved lender before use — not as independently verified facts.

Not fully native

Parts of the staged pages use custom HTML/CSS. The blog element and integrations are native, but we do not describe the entire site as GHL-native editing — the audit is explicit about the difference.

FAQ

Questions about this build

Why build in GoHighLevel instead of the existing site?
Because the pages need to be crawlable, editable by the client, and connected to forms and follow-up in one place. GoHighLevel gives the SEO team clean URLs and metadata, the client direct editing, and the lead flow a home that feeds the CRM — without a developer for every text change.
Why not just launch it and sort the domain later?
Because moving a domain touches the client's live front door. The safe choice is to present both paths with their trade-offs and let the owner decide, rather than optimizing for a launch date at the risk of replacing a working homepage without consent.
What happens after the domain decision?
The remaining QA runs: responsive navigation, URL paths, form submission, video playback, IDX search and listing-detail behavior, and live technical SEO — then the pages publish with the client's explicit approval. The knowledge base is already in place for follow-up emails and SMS.
